Health & Chemical Risk Assessment

Risk Assessment
A risk assessment can be defined as a process of evaluating the risk arising from a hazard, taking into account the adequacy of any existing controls, and deciding whether or not the risk is acceptable. Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993. This report focuses on risks that can have a short-term or long-term impact on the health of the employee.
The purpose of the health risk assessment (HRA) is to identify the health hazards, inherent to specific job tasks and to determine the associated risk of adverse health effects as a consequence of exposure to hazards. The health risk assessment provides the client with the framework to prioritise the management of health risks.
